The chance to compete for club honours
Club competitions provide members with the opportunity to compete for club honours and trophies in a structured and rewarding environment. Played throughout the season, these events bring together bowlers of all abilities in a range of singles, pairs, and triples formats, offering both challenge and enjoyment.
Taking part in club competitions is an excellent way to test your skills under pressure, develop match-play experience and measure your progress against fellow members. Whether you are aiming to win a trophy or simply challenge yourself against different opponents, there is a competition to suit every level of experience.
Club competitions often produce some of the season’s most memorable matches, with close contests, impressive performances and plenty of support from fellow members. They are an important part of club life and provide a great opportunity to enjoy the competitive side of bowls while representing yourself and your club with pride.

Most Club Competitions are played in a round-robin format, giving all participants the opportunity to play several games during the event. Competitors are divided into two groups, with each competitor(s) playing the others in their group over games of four or six ends.
Points are awarded based on results, and at the conclusion of the group stage the leading competitor(s) progress to the final.

Club competitions are advertised on the club noticeboards throughout the season. Members wishing to take part should add their name to the relevant competition entry sheet before the published closing date.
