Junior bowls at Mansfield Bowling Club is all about enjoying the game, making friends and having fun in a safe and welcoming environment. Open to children and young people of all abilities, our junior section provides an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be part of a club that has been at the heart of the community for over 300 years.
Coaching sessions are designed to be enjoyable and engaging, with plenty of encouragement for beginners and those looking to develop their game further. Whether the aim is simply to have fun with friends or to progress into competitions and county events, every young bowler is supported by our experienced coaching team.
Junior coaching takes place on Saturday mornings throughout the summer season. All coaches are registered with the English Bowls Coaches Society and hold enhanced DBS accreditation, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
New players are always welcome, and all equipment can be provided, so there is no need for previous experience.

What to Expect

Junior coaching is open to children and young people of all abilities. New players are always welcome and no previous experience is needed.

Junior coaching takes place on Saturday mornings throughout the summer season, 10 am to 12pm.

No. All equipment can be provided by the club, making it easy for beginners to try the sport without any expense.

Yes. All coaches are registered with the English Bowls Coaches Society and hold enhanced DBS accreditation.

Yes. Juniors can take part in club competitions up to the age of 18. Players competing at County level are classed as juniors up to the age of 25.

As they reach adulthood, junior members are encouraged and supported in making the transition into the senior section, where they can continue to enjoy all aspects of club life and competition.
